Thanks for going through your forum to find some topics which may help...I'm digesting the info ok, I guess. I'm not really a developer; but I am trying to cut corners and do this myself.
I will be using Specific Post/Page access as a way to take payment for services. If you don't mind, I'll take you through a scenario:
Small business owners are not searching for "local online marketing" in the search engines, partly because they do not know what to search for. BUT, they are silently looking for a way out from under the catch-all and expensive services of the traditional directory companies, like AT&T. So my company has figured a way to "make it easy for local businesses to effectively advertise and market online"! I have three basic services:
1) AdPro (immediate results - adword campaign),
2) WebPro (long-term results - SEO), and
3) TotalPro (both of the above)
I want to incorporate a web-based way for the business owners to buy the services we offer through the direction of offline sales people. Does that make sense? In other words, the sales people are going to cold call the business owners and set appointments with them. These appointments will be at the business owners place of business or over the phone. Either way, the sales person will be guiding them through a presentation on our website and ultimately to a "pricing" page. I have incorporated idevaffiliate and have a page where the sales person has the prospect put in their affiliate code. I also have the pixel tracking active for specific page tracking code in s2Member.
Ok, let's assume the sales person has successfully guided the prospect to purchase at the pricing page. The way I have things set up now is pretty complicated. If a prospect wants the AdPro package, there are three things they have to purchase: 1) Setup components - one time fee for keyword research, microsite, web properties, maps & business listings, conversion tools, etc..(recurring payment paid in full on PayPal so they can use their credit card and not have to sign up for PayPal) 2) a monthly "Performance" fee - monthly subscription for developing and maintaining their adword campaign. (I haven't been approved for a PayPal Pro account so this has to be a subscription) 3) Finally, a predetermined budget going strictly towards their adwords. (again a recurring payment so they can enter an amount to budget each month). Ultimately, I have 4 pages. Once they click on a "View Details" button on the pricing page, they go to a 1) sales page for the AdPro Campaign. Then after they make payment they are directed to a second page 2) to purchase the performance fee subscription. Then a third page 3) to enter the amount they want to spend on ads. Finally, they will be taken to a fourth page 4) which tells them they are done and are now a client...here they fill out a short form to schedule a consultation with their dedicated account specialist. Make sense so far?
What I've done is protect the second page of the process (purchase the performance subscription) with the Specific Page/Post Restriction in s2Member with PayPal sending the purchase amount, description, and transaction # back to my site so that idevaffiliate can schedule to pay a commission to the affiliate (or in our case, the sales rep). Then I had to create two more buttons for the "performance" and "ad spend" in paypal to put on those other pages 3 & 4. This way the sales rep gets paid on the setup and not the performance or ad spend.
I guess my question is more of is this going to work and is this the most efficient way of doing what I'm trying to do?
Oh, and I think I'd like the theme you were coupling with s2Member Pro. May I pay you the difference? I did purchase s2Member Pro for unlimited sites...
