License and Migration Requirements

Postby hardySykes » August 5th, 2011, 11:31 am

We purchased the Single-Site License + s2Clean Theme Package for our production domain. We now need to create an additional domain for development. If we backup and restore our production domain to the development domain.

1. What do we need to do to allow s2Member to work correctly without violating licensing agreements?

2. Are there any configuration changes of s2Member that must take place for the plugin to work correctly?

2. Are we able to purchase a license upgrade for multiple domains?

Note: The development domain is for testing purposes only and does not need to connect to PayPal, Authorize.NET etc.

1. It's fine to do it. It won't be another live website, it's OK to have development installations, that doesn't break that single-site license. Thank you very much for asking.

2. You'll need to make sure you update all the instances of the domain name. Search the database for them, there may even be one in a serialized array.

3. Yes, you can upgrade paying the difference using this form: https://www.s2member.com/account/upgrade-co/ Make sure you're logged in to your s2Member account before using the form.

I hope that helps. :)

I have a similar question - I am thinking of purchasing PRO but am working on a development site right now. What will I need to do to turn that development site in to a live site (different subdomain). Just remove the license from the development site? It may be the case that both need to work for troubleshooting purposes and testing.

Please advise,

Thanks,
Daisy

But only one will be the production site, the other will be for development/testing, right?
