Use s2M with iDeal, not paypal? (manual payment processing)

Postby Mar10e » September 1st, 2011, 9:52 am

Hi all,

I'm in Holland and PayPal (and credit cards) are not commonly used here, nor very populair. So instead of using PayPal, I'd like to use iDeal, the leading Dutch payment provider (through payment provider Mollie).

There's no membership plugin that supports iDeal, and I like s2M, so I'll provide the links myself and manually add the payment details by editing the members after registration. Not ideal, but it'll do. If it'll work that way ..?

When a member is registered I can see I can edit them and fill in the payment details, but it's asking for a Paid Subscr. ID that's related to PayPal. Will that field accept any number I enter? I would obviously use an iDeal ID, not a PayPal ID ..? Secondly, I can't seem to edit the type of membership?

The way I have it set up now is members registering with s2M, including custom fields. One of those fields is for the type of membership (I'll be offering 2 types of paid memberships). I've listed the payment-links they'll need in the email s2M sends out after registering, and when the payment is done I have to manually edit their memberdetails to include a) the type of membership, b) the EOT and c) iDeal Payment ID.

Can anyone tell me if it'll work that way? Thank you very much in advance!

Hi. :)

Yes, you can work that way. s2Member won't communicate with iDeal that way, but it can act on EOT if you set the time for it and the EOT behavior. You can edit the user's role all the times you want manually. WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Options -> Automatic EOT Behavior

The access should not be a custom profile field, but it can be a role or custom capabilities.

Maybe, with a bit of work, you could even integrate iDeal with s2Member so they talk with each other. Here's a tip that may help do it: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=3154

I hope that helps.
