force display name to be first name only

Is there a way so that when a user signs up, his display name is his first name only? and also force him to not change that field in his profile area?

Try this setting: WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Custom Registration -> Set "Display Name"

I don't know how to lock the setting, though.
