Internet explorer cannot display the webpage.

This is the error I get everytime I upload my ccap with dripping into functions.php or s2-hack.php (in the mu-plugins folder) for a single second my website worked with it uploaded, but within a few moments the website went sluggish and then stopped responding. the minute I delete the file, the website returns to fast and smooth operation. any ideas on what could cause this?
