Sign Up Link goes to 404 Error.

Hi,

Subject says it all...

This is just cropped up, lord knows what the f*ck I changed, but this wasn't happening a few days ago. Now all of a sudden, I've got a 404 error where there was none before.

Ok, user comes to my site, and I'm using S2Pro, and the login widget for the sidebar, unmodified code. The link for 'sign up now' goes to another login form (wrong), and then on the resulting page, clicking that same link takes me to a 404 error.

Vhat da heck did I do wrong ???? And how the heck do I fix it ???

Unfortunately neither of those (the 3rd was a repeat of the 2nd), solves the issue at hand.

Perhaps I should be a bit clearer, because on 4th view of the note I sent...I see that I wasn't clear.

End user comes to my site, looking to register/sign up for my site. On the sidebar is the S2MemberPro Login Widget. Contained within that widget is a link to "SIGN UP NOW". User selects this link expecting to go to the registration page. Instead, the user is directed to the welcome page where I have 2 forms sitting there. The first is an embedded login-form (its the same code that's pulling in the S2MemberPro widget), and the form that's supposed to be there to pay for access to the site. Again the same link for "SIGN UP NOW" is there, the user selects that and the resulting page takes them to a 404 error, the URL that's being generated is http://mydomain.com/sign_up/

Anyone ?

The link that it should direct them to is "/wp-login.php?action=register" instead of "sign_up", so maybe that's the problem.

Correct! It should go to "/wp-login.php?action=register" and doesn't!

Are you using any other plugin that may take over the registration process, without including s2Member?

Or could you post a list of plugins that you're using?

No other plugins are taking over registration at all. S2 is the only plug-in that's handling this.

Could you please try changing the theme to the TwentyEleven theme, try the button and see if it works?

Problem not exactly solved but I'll keep looking for the culprit. I installed the 'Redirection' plug-in. Which solves the immediate issue. But usually when there's an issue like this, its yapping about a problem somewhere else...and this time would be no exception. I've only delayed the problem rearing its ugly head. Its clear that there is a conflict somewhere but for right now, I can't figure out where its coming from and I have people signing up after a major media push so I can't fiddle with this right now...when things die down a bit yes, but thanks for your help none the less!

Yeah sure! Just post again when you can, and also when you can try to do a compatibility check, disabling every plugin one-per-one until the issue is solved, also when you can try to change the theme.

Oooops forgot that. Yeah I did change the theme, had to disable a plug-in or two, and as a result the end user ended up on the registration page, which is what should have happened...so now I've got it localized to the theme itself..something is amiss there. Thanks!
