How to set a Premise page as the home page?

Postby divagrrl27 » November 3rd, 2011, 12:56 pm

I'm a little confused by s2Member's Membership Options default page system, and saw from a previous thread that setting a Premise landing page is not as easy as I'd hoped.

Here's what I'm trying to do:

- when a non-member (or non-logged-in member) goes to my home page, they see a Premise landing page

- when a logged-in member goes to the site, they get the Activity page (currently set as Home in WP settings)

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Melissa

You could protect the Activity page at Level 0, so if that's the home page, users that aren't logged in will be sent to the Membership Options page when going there. Would that work?

By the way, the home page shouldn't also be the Membership Options or Login Welcome pages. Just mentioning it in case the Activity page is what you use for the Login Welcome as well.

I don't have the home page set as membership options or login welcome. I have a Welcome + How To page as the Login Welcome page, and Activity as the after-first-login Home page.

I guess what I'm trying to accomplish is to set the Membership Options page as a Premise landing page. Is this possible? I've figured out from reading here that Premise landing pages are not actual *Pages*, but rather (I think I have this right) Custom Post Types.

Is it possible to set the Membership Options page to a Premise landing page? In other words, when someone goes to mydomain.com and they're not a logged-in member, they'd land on the Premise landing page instead of the page I have set now as Membership Options.

Hope this makes sense...

Thanks.

Well, if the Premise landing page shows up as an option in the drop down for the Membership Options page, then I guess you can use it, otherwise I'm afraid not. WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Membership Options
