Password Reset conflicts

Postby jtdegree » November 4th, 2011, 10:42 am

Hello, when members attempt to reset their password using the standard wordpress login page password reset function, it sends them an email but does not include a link to actually reset their password. I am assuming it is a conflict with the s2member plugin, since the password reset feature does everything it is supposed to do except include the password reset link in the email - any fixes?

It generates a password for you, you don't get a link to reset it. Here's how it works: http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Yo ... ic_emailer

I hope that helps. :)

I understand that's what the wordpress help says, but it's not helpful, since the screenshot below is what is actually in the email users get when they click on the "reset password" option, which does not reset the password automatically but sends you a link to go in and do it - except the link is missing. I'm wondering if this is a conflict with the permissions that s2member sets for users.

Ah yes, I just tried it and got that email. Actually, mine had each sentence in its own line instead of a single one, and it does include the link at the end.

I wonder if you have another plugin causing a conflict with this feature. Could you try deactivating your plugins as a test and trying the lost password feature? Then reactivate them one by one and try the lost password after each to find which one causes the problem.

I hope that helps. :)
