Registration

I would like to allow members to log in to the site, collect information for a directory of members and allow members to pay dues if they would like to. Can I make a directory of members visible to logged in members. I am wondering if I need to upgrade to s2member pro to set this up. Any help would be appreciated. I have a mailchimp account and have connected it with s2member but I don't see how they are working together.
