Pay by checking account

Postby dskallman » August 3rd, 2011, 4:43 pm

Hi,

Is there a way to allow people to make recurring payments from their checking account? Does that tie into payment gateways or is there another way?

Thanks!

Hmm... No, I don't know how checking accounts can be used for payments. Unless one of the gateways integrated with s2Member accepts them during checkout, but I don't know which do.

I'll ask Jason.

Yes, PayPal accounts can be tied to a checking account, allowing your Customers to use their PayPal account, which is funded by their remote checking account to make payments on a recurring basis. This works with both Standard PayPal integration, and also for PayPal Pro integration with s2Member Pro Forms, because in either case, a Customer has the option to use PayPal. Using PayPal allows a customer to pay you with a check, based on the way they establish and/or later configure their PayPal account. Actually, it's more like an ACH direct-debit, then an echeck, because PayPal will automatically transfer funds from the Customer's checking account to your site when a payment is due.

Authorize.net allows e-check payments. In order for this to be an option for my users, is there something I need to change in the s2member code?

Thanks for the follow-up.

I'm very sorry. s2Member Pro does not currently support e-Check transactions via Authorize.Net in any capacity. So yes, if you needed that functionality, you might consider hiring a freelancer to integrate it for you. I'll accept this as a feature request, and we'll see about implementing this in a future release.
