custom registration based on membership and buddypress

Postby waveminded » November 30th, 2010, 9:05 pm

1. I read one post regarding different registration custom fields based on membership level. This is awesome! Exactly what I was looking for. I have a question regarding membership upgrades and the fields

Level 0 -> Field 1, 2, 3 to register
Level 1 -> Field 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 to register

Now if someone registers as Level 0 and upgrades to Level 1, are they prompted to enter the information into the new additional fields offered to level 1 members? How are the upgrade and fields handled?

2. Buddypress... basically I want to use S2member to restrict the amount of info a user can reveal on their profile. Level 0 can display name, photo... Level 1 can display name, photo, website, facebook link, etc... Is this possible with the Pro version?

Anyone know if this is possible or do I just have to buy S2member to find out?

You don't have to buy anything. The free version is fully functional so install and try it.

What you describe is the "standard" implementation so yes, it is possible, but I'm not sure if works quite the way you describe it. The Upgrade page you create can contain additional registration fields and you include a PayPal button at the end or on a redirected page to complete the process.

The paid license allows you to use PayPal Pro which apparently does provide some easier functionality on form building, but I don't use PayPal Pro so don't really know its benefits.
