Non-Auto Activate?

Postby rodgerr » December 21st, 2011, 3:57 am

I would like to have the members "request" membership access. I will not need to collect payment, but will need to verify that the requesting party should and at what level have access. Is there a way to just have the user submit the registration and then have the administrator approve their account and then have the email go back to the user stating the status of their account. Or maybe there is a better solution? Thanks!

Hi rodgerr,

The best solution for this scenario would be to have your members register a free account and then have an administrator manually "approve" each account by changing the user's role from free to one of the higher levels. This would effectively "approve" their account.

You can configure WordPress to automatically send an email to the user when their role has changed. Please see this thread for more information: http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewt ... 346#p54346
