Opt-in, in lieu of PayPal payment

Postby MOH Guy » December 21st, 2011, 6:03 pm

I'm offering a free download for new subscribers to my email list (currently MailChimp.) Before they get the download they have to register for it. I think I can make it work using level #0 (free subscriber) but I would rather have registration locked down and available on level #1 and only if they have double opted-in, sort of like how it would work if they made a PayPal payment.

...can s2Member do that :?:

In MailChimp you can create a custom confirmed page on your website that subscribers are sent to after confirming the email, would putting the download link on that page work as they have double opted-in to be directed there?

I could easily put a link or even redirect to a specific page on my site but, then I would have to use level zero (free access) and I would rather not allow open registration. If the downloads were a paid service, the redirect from PayPay after check-out would pass-on a custom code through the url allowing paid level (1-4,~) access.

I was hoping their was a way to set-up MailChip/s2Member to pass on/read a url variable or even a static url code to allow for level one access.

Hi MOH Guy,

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do. You said "before they get the download they have to register for it", but then you later said "I would rather not allow open registration". Could you clarify what you're trying to do or describe an ideal example of the entire process?

I have a feeling s2Member can do what you're describing, but I want to make sure I understand your requirements before offering a solution. :)
