Suggestion: exclude blog by id#

Postby anointed » December 24th, 2011, 3:58 am

It seems that s2members has all the basic and even more advanced exclusion systems in place, but the absolute most basic setup for those of us on networks is missing.

Why not have a simple dropdown where I can select the blogs on my network that I want to exclude per user level?

i.e.
simply list out all of my blogs on the network under level#0, level#1 etc and let me put a check next to the blogs I want to exclude.

There are simple functions available like get_blog_list()

Would this not be a very user friendly way of protecting individual sites?

anointed,

We do hope to improve network support moving forward. I will pass along your feature request to our lead developer.

Thank you for the suggestion!

Thanks for the heads up on this thread.
I'll accept this as a feature request. Also, you might want to read this post regarding Multisite installations running s2Member across multiple Child Blogs. See: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15507&p=48527#p48527

@Jason
Given that I have a child blog which contains all of my members support docs, forums, video's, etc. and the current limitations of s2members, do you have any suggestions for me?

I don't want non-paying members >level1 on main blog to be able to view anything on the support child blog.

Basically I am trying to replicate what most of the big theme companies like woothemes do by blocking support to visitors.

Any suggestions?

Wow, I just read through the older threads on this and see this has been requested for well over a year.

As it's obvious s2members has no plan on adding this functionality, can you suggest a competing plugin that may be able to solve this?

*yeah, I know it's bad form to ask about competitors, but after a year, I figured it's worth a shot to ask*
