Is there a way to turn off URL Shortening? If so will this cause any problems?

Well, it's not advisable to not shorten the URL, since it's pretty long and it'll break in many email interfaces, bsides being intimidating to the user.
You can use a different shortening service if you prefer that, though. WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> URL Shortening
