Which shopping cart to use with S2 Member

I am trying to use S2 member on my site, though also use a simple plugin shopping cart. At the moment, I am having troubles as the shopping cart requires different settings to s2member, most notably IPN switched on vs off.

Has anyone had any success with a shopping cart plugin used in conjunction with s2member? I would far prefer a free plugin, though if the only option is a paid plugin, I'm open to suggestions.

Are there any other recommendations as to what I could do?

The more detail in an answer the better as I am not an expert by any stretch.

Edit: scratch that, the shop *requires* IPN to be set off? Which shop is it?

I'm currently using eShop, which I notice acts a little wonky if IPN is turned on, but it still functions properly for the most part.

S2member has the notify and return URL set in the generated buttons, so if you needed something else to be put in the IPN setting on paypal itself, things would still work alright. But required to be off, that I do not know

Actually, I was testing with eshop and the instruction to turn IPN off threw me. I thought if this was the case, eshop would not function properly. Can I have a look at your site and its functionality to see how it works? Also, I'd love to hear what you did to make them work together.

In fact if anyone has s2member working with a shopping cart I'd love to see it (and hopefully get your opinion). PLEASE!!!

Since the site might be considered Not Safe For Work, I've sent it to you in PM.

The problem relating with returning from paypal and the IPN info, is it messes up eShop's return page (eshop_show_success shortcode). If their purchase had a download, it should show a "View Your Downloads" button, and this button will automatically input their e-mail and download code. When IPN is turned on, it sends back a bunch of data in the url which seems to prevent this from showing up. I get around this by just having text and a link to the download page, although they'll need to get the e-mail with the code before they can do anything.

There's also an issue with certain buyers getting their orders set to "failed' when paypal actually approved it. I don't know if this is related to the IPN settings or something else, but I've seen on their forum I'm not the only one who has the problem.

The best bet might be to use a full-fledged, separate shopping cart script (or maybe wordpress on zencart/WoZ?) and somehow have it pull users from the wordpress database (so s2member is still in control there). I'm running into serious problems in this area myself, I love the control s2member provides but there really isn't a good free wordpress shopping cart script to tightly integrate with premium members functions.

I'm a consultant with service packages - can I add code to my existing paid products to integrate S2M or even design new service packages? Either or, I'm open - just beginning these two phases of my site. Thanks D

Suggestion: accept vouchers in S2member which then can be sold in any shop system so the two won’t interfere.

The voucher idea was suggested by another User. The concept is that you'd be able to sell vouchers that would allow Customers that checked out on other software platform to visit the registration form on your WordPress powered site, and enter a voucher to gain access without needing to pay again.

I'll be happy to answer your other question as well, but can you please provide just a bit more detail for me? I'm not sure I understand exactly what you'd like to accomplish. If you can explain with a bit more detail, I'll be happy to assist.

Once s2Member Coupon Codes are able to handle 100% OFF discounts, they could work for those vouchers.

Right now on my website: http://motion-master-templates.com , when I have to add a new product it feels as if it can be streamlined more.

I have been looking high and low for a FREE cataloging system that is easy to use, easy to customize and easy to update. I believe having to go and update posts is not the easiest solution as I have to update the post and the excerpt.

So what I am looking for is a free cart, catalog, organization system that can integrate with s2member and be easy to use, if anyone has any suggestions I would be most appreciative.
