S2Member Functionality Question

Postby peterhuk » February 12th, 2011, 5:01 am

I am currently looking to integrate S2Member :D, S2Member from what I
can see is geared to providing paid access to secured front end
posts/pages etc. My requirement is for the front end to be open to
all visitors but the back end secured by S2Member based on membership level.

I have a few questions about my requirements which I hope can be answered:

a, For logged in members (above level 0) there will be approximately
23 options. To create a S2Member / Paypal button for each combination
would equate to 4.2 million buttons :o to accommodate all the various
combination. Using the guidelines from s2Member Buttons > Shortcode Attributes
would it be possible to allow my plugging to auto generate a Paypal
button to include all the customer chosen options?

b, If it is possible to generate own Paypal buttons as above (i.e not
saved by S2Member) does S2Member verify the validity of customer
payments i.e if customer altered the hidden price input and lowered the
membership price. Would S2Member generate an error or would I as
site admin need to check all subscription payment manually?

c, as there will be no requirements to secure front end post/pages etc would
there be any problems in removing the S2Member JavaScript and stylesheet
    header entry?

That’s about it for now

Man y thanks in advance for any assistance

Hi,

I'm wondering if you could provide your solution to the question you asked on Primo Themes' support forums. I have to dynamically create a list of subscription buttons depending upon special user data, and I'm wondering how you managed to solve this.

Let me know.

Hi PxO Ink,

The way I worked this out is, that the buttons generated are not saved to
DB. So therefore the buttons generated contain static data i.e values that
Are the same on every button generated.

My solution is simple get the customer requirement first i.e display list of
options with relevant prices and give a tick box for each.

When the customer has selected their required choice the form can be posted by the customer clicking a checkout button.

In the backend, calculations can be made for the total price and each of the
Privileges paid for then using the current button generator as template populate the payment form with the updated data.

Hope this helps

Phuk..
