free reg for short time

Hello to everyone,
i've plan to use s2member to allow users access to my site and pay for view content,
but
i would like to set the registration free for a short first period of time.

The question is:
can i setup the plugin to Open Registration / Free Subscribers (Level0) for, let's say, 1 month and then switch to Level 1+ without loosing those users registration ?

I hope you can understand what i mean

Sure.

You can do it in one of two ways that come to mind:

- Let people register for free and then ask them to pay for Level 1.
- Make them pay for Level 1 right away, with 1 month free trial.

even if i'm not clear how to do, i'm happy i cand fo it .... i'm just trying to figure out if I can use this great plugin for my site.

I need another clarification, please:
the giude says:
1- s2Member uses the existing WordPress® Login/Registration system....
but when i test it is not allowed .... i don't understand.

2 - Is there a way to test functionality with my own PayPal account ?

I'm glad you decided to try s2Member, I believe it may be just what you were looking for.

To allow visitors to open an account without purchasing a membership, the open registration must be enabled here WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Open Registration / Free Subscribers.



Yes, you can definitely use your PayPal account. Here's an overview of the different PayPal services.

Configure your PayPal details here WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Options -> PayPal Account Details. In that same panel you'll see an option to enable PayPal's Sandbox to do your testing.

To generate the button with the 1 month free trial, or to upgrade an account from free to a paid level, go to to WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Buttons.





You may notice a slight difference in s2Member's interface for PayPal in the video compared to the latest release of the plugin.
