s2 member pro not showing on dashboard

I've just bought s2 member pro and it's not showing up on the dashbaord.

It's showing in the wp-content/plugins in filezilla, but not in the plugins or on the dashboard in wordpress.

Have the latest version 110606 installed.

When you say it doesn't show up in the dashboard, do you mean that it doesn't show up in the left column at the bottom, in the list of plugins, or both?

If it shows up in the list of plug-ins and does not show up in the left column, then try activating it.

If it does not show up in either location, does wp-content/plugins show a zip file or the unzipped individual s2 folders?

If it appears as a zip file, then it needs to be unzipped to that location.

If they are unzipped, try logging out and then logging back in.

Also, s2M Pro simply adds features to the default install of s2. A separate area for s2M Pro will not appear, but the default install will have additional selections that become available.

There is nothing showing that s2 member pro is installed.

In the wp-content/plugins folder I have the unzipped folder as per the install instructions.

Have logged in and out numerous times.

No additional features appear in the free s2 member drop down.

In your plugins directory, what s2Member folders do you have? Could you list them?

Also, make sure that there isn't a second folder inside the first one, e.g.: /wp-content/plugins/s2member-pro/s2member-pro/... This sometimes happens depending on how it gets unzipped.

Hey Cristian you've done it again.

There was a second s2member folder in the folder. All sorted now and showing on Dasboard.

Might be a good idea to highlight this as a possible problem and put it on the instal guide for pro.

I have the same problem. I installed s2member (under /wp-content/plugins). The plug-in is activated, and it shows in the plug-in list. It doesn't show up in the menu on the left.

Oh, ok, you're talking about the s2Member Free plugin, not the Pro addon that was being talked about in this thread. Hmm... Could you disable the plugins one by one until the s2Member navigation shows up? Then you'd have found the conflict. I see you have a plugin that affects the admin area, I'd start with that one.

I deactivated all the plug-ins (besides the multilanguage one, which I can't deactivate). Nothing has changed: as you can see, the menu doesn't show on the sidebar

Maybe this can help: the previous version of s2member was functional before I uninstalled it in order to install the new one.

OK. It could be that your installation is incomplete. Could you reinstall s2Member following these instructions? viewtopic.php?f=36&t=247

I can't, because the s2member dashboard doesn't show up, and thus, I can't access "s2Member -> General Options -> De-Activation Safeguards".

Does s2member save any table in the wordpress database? Maybe I'll just manually delete any dependancies of s2member, and I will reinstall it from scratch.

It doesn't create new tables, it uses WordPress' ones. If you delete the s2member folder in the plugins directory and re-upload it without reloading the WordPress dashboard first, maybe it won't delete any information from the database.

I have the same problem as NicholasCaporusso.
I installed the free s2member plug-in (under /wp-content/plugins). The plug-in is activated, and it shows in the plug-in list. It doesn't show up in the menu on the left.

I think my problem was my Wordpress version (I had an old one). Since I switched to the last one (3.1.3), it works.
